June 1, 2018 | Joey Pothe The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Canada was chosen for the 2018 Coin box program with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries – Liquor Marts. Your donation will help us in our mission to educate young women on the importance of taking a multivitamin that contains folic acid before becoming pregnant to prevent neural tube defects in their babies. 85% of babies born with spina bifida will also have hydrocephalus . About 1 in 200 adults over the age of 55 will develop Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) whose symptoms mimic those of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. However, if NPH is detected early by a CT scan or MRI, the symptoms can be treated. There is no cure for spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Please help us to raise awareness and support by making a donation in one of our coin boxes found in Liquor Marts throughout Manitoba during the month of June. FacebookTweetPin
